Registered Behavior Technician® Training

The Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA).

The RBT is responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services such as Discrete Trial Intervention, data collection, social skills supports, behavior plan implementation and more.

Training Content

After this 40-hour in-person training, participants will be prepared to take the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BACB) Online RBT Exam by demonstrating competence in all of the areas on the RBT Task List including:

  • Measurement

  • Assessment

  • Skill Acquisition

  • Behavior Reduction

  • Documentation and Reporting

  • Professional Conduct

  • Scope of Practice

This training program is based on the RBT Task List and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential. The program is offered independent of the BACB.
